2019 Countdown #3

Bohemia Mining Days begins soon!  Here are a few opportunities to maximize your fun and enjoyment of Cottage Grove’s biggest event of the year - and support festival operations.
Advanced All-Day Carnival Ride Bracelets:  Last call for discount coupons.   These coupons for Carnival rides are available at the Cottage Grove Bi-Mart store until Thursday (7/18) at 3:00 p.m.  $22 in advance and $30 on site.  Families save even more on Thursday (only) with a 2-for-1 “Buddy Day” deal.

Saturday's Covered Bridge Tours:  In partnership with South Lane Wheels and the Cottage Grove Tour Guides, BMD offers two 2-hour tours of local covered bridges at Noon and 2:00 p.m.  Seating is limited to 18 participants - so buy early.  Great idea for visiting family and friends.  Tickets are $10/person.  Call Cindy at 541-942-5064 to check on ticket availability.

Grand Miners Parade:  Applications for the Grand Miners Parade are still being accepted but will be assessed a $5 late fee.  Entries registering on Parade Day will pay an additional $10 fee.  Applications are available on the website or outside the festival office door in the Cottage Grove Hotel (next to Buster’s Café).

Ugly Dog Contest:  As part of our 60th celebration, this once popular contest returns.  We will award first, second, & third place in four categories: Best Costume, Best Owner/Dog Look-alike, Best Tricks, and Ugliest Dog.  Registration forms are on the BMD website.  Registration fee: $15 per dog.

Bloomers (Ladies Only) Parade: Join 94.5 Mix FM Morning Show Hosts Liz & Reilly for a unique experience to kick off the opening of Bohemia City on July 17th with the Bloomers Parade.  Got bloomers?  Make your own or purchase a pair at Delight, 538 E. Main St.  Parade line up begins at 6:00 p.m. near the corner of 5th & Main Streets.  The parade steps off at 6:30 p.m. and proceeds eight blocks east to Bohemia City in Coiner Park.  There is no entry fee.  A float is available for participants who have mobility issues.

Three Themed Meals:  Help support logistical costs by enjoying one of three fundraising meals in the Chuckwagon area next to the Basketball Court.  Miners’ Steak and Beans dinner on Thursday from 6:00-7:30 p.m. is $17.  On Friday and Saturday morning, enjoy a Chuckwagon Breakfast from 7:00-10:00 a.m. for $7.

Bingo is back:  After nearly a decade-long hiatus, the Cottage Grove Brewers Guild brings back this popular game to Bohemia City will all proceeds donated toward BMD operational expenses.
