Jake is a Cottage Grove City Councilor with a passion for history. The Slabtown/Lemati Feud has come alive under his leadership this year. When this tall man with a reddish beard appears anywhere in his BMD costume complete with top hat and monocle he not only looks stately but as if he stepped out of a time machine from the Victorian era.
A newcomer to the BMD Board this year, Eric is a community volunteer and former member of the city budget committee. As a lover of history and the BMD Festival, Eric has donated his amazing skills as a graphic designer to create the 2012 Festival posters, buttons, brochure and fliers. His skills in web design have been invaluable to the 2012 Web Design Team.
Cindy has worn several hats assisting the BMD board and Festival Coordinator in the last eight years, primarily as publicity coordinator, website content coordinator and as an official BMD Ambassador. This year she joined the board and serves as Board Secretary, Kiddie Parade Coordinator and is on the Website Design Team.
As a new member to the BMD Board this year, Cathy has jumped right in as a key member of the Contest Development Team and the Website Design Team. Her sewing skills have been invaluable in making items for this year’s new contests and providing the Website Design Team with important feedback as a user.
Jimmy’s passion for community development and public outreach make him a valuable member of the BMD Board. He is a terrific networker and knows how to make things happen.
Jerry is one of those hard-working behind the scenes logistical wizards every successful community organization needs. To help cover the overhead costs of putting on the annual festival the BMD Board works closely with the local Kiwanis Clubs to offer the Miner's Steak Dinner on Thursday night and the Chuckwagon Breakfast on Sunday morning.
After the resignation of 2010 and 2011 Festival Coordinator Alan Payment, longtime BMD Festival Coordinator Sharon Jean returned as Interim Festival Coordinator to assist the board in organizing the 2012 festival and in training another successor. Sharon loves BMD and has worn several important hats in the past decade to keep the celebration going.
